Located 8 miles from St. Louis (a later postcard says 7 miles, probably due to the encroachment of civilization), the Air-O-Way Courts was owned by Mr. and Mrs. Michael Rampani. In the 1970s it became the Air Way, and was torn down in the ’90s to make room for a Home Depot.

This photograph, taken in May of 1910, shows two “newsies” for the St. Louis Globe-Democrat. The boy on the right, nicknamed Turk, said he was going to Texas soon. The investigator for the Child Labor Committee said the boy had $1.75 he had just won at craps.
