This unmailed postcard was published by Hugh C. Leighton Co., a company that was active between 1906 and 1909. It’s interesting in that, like the next one I’ll post, it serves to advertise a paint company, B. K. & Co. Advertising was different then.

The Carlton Bridge is one of the oldest landmarks in Bath, Maine, having opened in 1927. Spanning the Kennebec River, it has been replaced by a new bridge and is now open only to rail traffic. This postcard probably dates from the late ’40s.
