Seminary South Shopping Center in Fort Worth, Texas opened in 1962, and was one of the first shopping malls. Predating most of the enclosed malls, Seminary South had an open-air layout that was conducive to attractive landscaping, giving it a park-like feel. The back of this postcard reads:
“THE MALL” OF SEMINARY SOUTH
Modern Design To Dazzle The Eye
FORT WORTH, TEXAS
Formerly a lake, now an enchanted Shopping Center, Seminary South located at South Freeway and Seminary Drive, is the largest and most beautiful west of the Mississippi River.
You may stroll leisurely from store to store, from fountain to fountain, from flower bed to flower bed or relax in shady comfort among the benches and playgrounds.
